Kano Deputy Governor and Commissioner Arrested Police by For Disrupting Proceedings at INEC collation center

The Police in Kano have taken the state deputy Governor, Nasiru Gawuna and the State Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sule Garo into custody over for alleged disruption of the Collation of results  at the Kano State collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The deputy governor and the commissioner were said to have stormed the collation centre at about 2am to disrupt the collation process, which led them  arrested by the law enforcement officers present at the venue.

The police are expected to later release Mr Gawuna without charges as he enjoys constitutional immunity from prosecution based on the office he holds.
